The bromance is back?
President Trump gave Kanye West a shout-out Saturday, days after the rap star sent a series of pro-Trump tweets.
“Thank you to Kanye West for your nice words,” Trump posted. “Criminal Justice Reform is now law – passed in a very bipartisan way!”
On Tuesday, New Year’s Day, West tweeted, “One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me what to do because I’m black.”
He also stated, “From now on I’m performing with my mutherf—ing [sic] hat on,” including three dragon emoticons, an apparent reference to West’s famous assertion that he and Trump “are both dragon energy.”
In October, West said he was taking a break from politics.
“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in,” he tweeted Oct. 30, days after an Oval Office meeting in which he hugged the prez.
West called for criminal justice reform during the meeting, and Trump in December signed the First Step Act into law, reducing mandatory minimum sentences, among other measures.
