Wisconsin man ‘frozen solid’ when cops found him dead
A Wisconsin man was reportedly “frozen solid” when cops found him dead in his backyard amid a polar vortex gripping much of the country.
Police were called Thursday to the home of a 62-year-old man in Cudahy when he didn’t show up for work, news station WITI reported.
The man — whose identity wasn’t released — did not have warm enough clothing to be outside and his body was “frozen solid,” according to ABC News.
“They found him frozen to the ground,” neighbor Roman Zukowski told WITI.
Temperatures plunged to minus 23 degrees Thursday in the neighborhood, which is 7 miles south of Milwaukee.
An autopsy was ordered to be conducted Monday.
At least 18 people have died, including a FedEx employee, as a result of dangerously cold temperatures across the Midwest and Northeast this week, according to the Associated Press.
