An unpatriotic vandal was busted for destroying an American flag “that was proudly displayed” on the back of an FDNY ambulance in Manhattan, fire officials said.
Nicholas Leobold, 50, was captured on dashcam footage, released by the FDNY, going after the flag at around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25 while the ambulance was parked at Second Avenue and East 9th Street in the East Village, according to officials.
When paramedics returned to the ambulance, they found that the US flag had been cut in two and thrown into a puddle of water on the street.
Leobold, who has no priors, was arrested by FDNY fire marshals Wednesday and charged with criminal mischief for the incident.
