A New Jersey mother was busted Saturday for the slaying of her toddler son — who she initially claimed was abducted, police said.
Nakira M. Griner, 24, told Bridgeton cops around 6:30 p.m. Friday that her 23-month-old son, Daniel Griner Jr., was taken, authorities said.
Investigators conducted a search, and ultimately found the little boy’s remains outside the home on Woodland Drive around 3 a.m. Saturday, cops said.
Griner was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree desecration of human remains and fourth-degree tampering with evidence, authorities said.
She is being held at the Cumberland County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Police said no other arrests are expected, but did not release any further information, citing the ongoing investigation.
