Abby Hornacek is going through a big career change, too

Abby Hornacek didn’t have a tough time transitioning from sports to the lifestyle genre upon joining Fox Nation earlier this month. As the daughter of former Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek recently told The Post, she was plenty equipped for the challenge, thanks in part to her established background.
“I think sports really prepared me well,” Hornacek said. “I’m doing a lot of light-hearted content for Fox Nation, and I think coming from the sports world, you know sports is entertainment, too, we would have fun conversations about all the things that were happening.
“You have to keep track of stats and people’s storylines, so it was a lot of information, and it was a lot of showing personality, which I’m hoping is something I can do through Fox Nation.”
A former ESPN contributor and Fox Sports sideline reporter, Hornacek said she was hosting the first live-streamed sports and entertainment series, “The Rally,” in Chicago when the opportunity with Fox Nation came about.
“I think my sports background because I’m hosting a new show about national parks, where I do a bunch of adrenaline-type sports activities, it really just was a great fit for me,” she said.

Having grown up in Utah and Arizona, where dad Jeff was an assistant coach with the Jazz and head coach of the Suns from 2013 to 2016, Hornacek said she and her family embraced the great outdoors regularly.
“I’m a super outdoorsy person, my family is extremely outdoorsy so we would go camping about once a week growing up, and you know I’ve been to a few of the national parks, we used to go to Zion [National Park] and Arches [National Park, both located in Utah],” she said. “I definitely have some experience, but I am excited to explore some of the other ones I haven’t seen yet.”
Set to show viewers what America has to offer, Hornacek was excited about taking the plunge — literally.
“I get to do these activities like bungee jumping and skydiving and bouldering in Joshua Tree [in California] and all things the people probably dream about and I get to do them, so I’m really excited,” Hornacek revealed.
And while this isn’t Hornacek’s first foray in front of the camera, Jeff, who recently revealed he’d like to coach again, did offer encouraging advice.

“They’re definitely excited,” she said. “They’re like, ‘Keep that excitement because the more excited you are about the content, the more that’s going to show.’ I really don’t have to try because I think everything with Fox Nation is doing is wonderful.”
“Meet Abby” will be available to download for all Fox Nation subscribers beginning Monday.
