A British tourist went missing from Times Square, police announced Friday morning.
John Tench, 67, who was visiting the city with his wife from Northumberland, England, was near the corner of 47th and Broadway around 10:15 p.m. Thursday watching street performers when his wife turned around for a moment — and when she turned back toward her husband, he was gone, police said.

She searched for him up and down the street but couldn’t find him in the crowded tourist haven, so she called police to report him missing.
Tench suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and because of that condition and his age, he’s already been labeled as a missing person.
He’s about 5 feet 9, weighs about 180 pounds, has a medium build and salt and pepper hair and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black hooded toggle jacket, blue jeans and brown boots.
