Diane von Furstenberg’s fashion dynasty has an heiress, apparently.
Meet Princess Talita Natasha von Fürstenberg, aka TVF, the 19-year-old granddaughter, muse and probable successor to the iconic wrap-dress creator known as DVF.
“I want to get involved in fashion and I’m starting to dip my toe into the water now,” the poised Georgetown sophomore told The Post at the brand’s Meatpacking District boutique during their Fashion Week bash on Feb. 10. “I have a capsule collection launching in mid-April [called TVF for DVF]. I’m shooting the campaign this weekend. There are about 24 pieces and it’s superfeminine and girly. It’s very California chic, summer-wear, easy and simple. I’m trying to bring in the younger market to DVF.”
Young Talita has always had her eye on the prize.
“She’s wanted to do this since she was 8 years old,” says 72-year-old von Furstenberg, also the chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. “She’s good at being herself and that’s all that matters. That’s what personal style is about.”
Truth be told, the teen is already knee-deep in fashion waters. She graced the cover of Tatler magazine in 2015, walked the runway for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017, interned for and was featured in the pages of Teen Vogue. Last year, she starred in DVF’s fall ad campaign and attended the Met Gala in a frothy sky-blue gown made of 350 yards of crystal-studded, hand-pleated tulle. And she and her distinguished granny are the latest Town & Country magazine cover girls.
Talita is the daughter of Prince Alexander von Fürstenberg and Alexandra Miller, his first wife. On her father’s side, she’s part of Germany’s princely House of Fürstenberg and Italy’s storied Agnelli dynasty. Her maternal grandfather, meanwhile, is billionaire businessman Robert Miller behind Duty Free Shops.
The socialite has amassed 169,000 followers on Instagram, where she documents her jet-setting lifestyle — one that has taken her, in the last year, from the Namibian bush and Bahamian beaches to the cobbled streets of Mykonos, Greece. And just when it seemed that Talita’s five-star life couldn’t get any more charmed, it turns out that she’s dating hunky Rocco Brignone, 18. He’s the scion of an Italian banking family that owns and runs the Costa Careyes private estate resort in Costalegre, Mexico.
“We’ve been family friends forever,” says Talita. “Our parents went to college together at Brown. We grew up together and went on a trip together with our two families in the Bahamas [last year] and we fell in love.”
After graduating from the Brentwood School in Los Angeles, where she was on the fencing team, Talita enrolled at Georgetown along with her cousin, Prince Alexios of Greece. “I’m studying justice and peace. It’s a new degree and it basically studies conflict resolution and combines international relations and philanthropy into one, so it’s really cool.”
Once her degree is completed, she intends to take fashion courses at the New School.
Of course, there’s no better classroom than the DVF atelier, so she’s putting in the hours. “Now I come into the studio a day a week,” says the student, whose hobbies include painting watercolors and “cooking every day.”
Even though she has an inside advantage, Talita says her grandmother is not giving her the royal treatment. “She’s making me work for it and learn everything,” she says. “Then we’ll see.”
