A saleswoman at a posh Chelsea children’s boutique was punched in the nose by a robber who was rushing her to hand over cash, police said Monday.
The 42-year-old was working inside Lucky Wang, a children’s clothing store on Seventh Avenue, around 1 p.m. Sunday when the thief barged in, cops said.
“Open the register,” he demanded, before punching her in the nose.
He grabbed $100 in cash before fleeing, leaving the woman bleeding heavily, cops said.
The suspect is still in the wind.
“We’re still trying to sort things out,” another Lucky Wang staffer said Monday, before declining to comment further.
The co-owner of next door L& M Delicatessen & Grocery said he was concerned about an uptick in neighborhood crime.
“I’ve been working her 26 years. It used to be a very safe neighborhood but now I’m seeing more situations like this,” groused 53-year-old Hugo Bustamante. “It’s scary because we’ve open very early in the morning and you don’t know who’s around. There should be more cops around here.”
