Man suspected of raping woman in Queens surrenders to cops
A man who allegedly raped a woman in Queens after he followed her off a bus and asked for directions surrendered himself to police on Monday, cops said.
Matthew Luna, 27, turned himself in to cops at the 108 Precinct station house in Long Island City after cops released photos of him on the bus prior to Friday’s attack, according to police.
He was charged with rape, stalking, and assault.
Luna allegedly trailed the 20-year-old woman off a city bus at 54th Street and Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside at about 10:40 p.m. Friday, cops said.
At first, he asked her for directions to the nearest subway, but then shoved her against a car and raped her, police said.
The suspect was awaiting arraignment early Tuesday.
