An Illinois teacher accused of sexual assault allegedly fessed up that she had sex with a student at her home, officials said.
Baylee Ashton Turner, 23, resigned from Sarcoxie High School after allegations surfaced earlier this month that she had sexual relations with a student, according to a report Monday from the Springfield News-Leader.
The English teacher allegedly admitted to police she had sex in mid-January with one of her students. Court documents state the victim also confirmed they had a sexual encounter.
Turner was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with sexual contact with a student by a teacher.
The judge set her bond at $10,000 and ordered her not to have contact with anyone under the age of 16. She is set to appear next in court March 6 for her arraignment.
If convicted of the charges, Turner could face up to four years in prison.
