President Trump and Kim Jong Un kicked off their second day of nuclear summit talks in Vietnam, with the North Korean leader saying he has a feeling that “good results” will come from the talks.
“It’s too early to tell, but I wouldn’t say I’m pessimistic. For what I feel right now, I do have a feeling that good results will come out,” Kim told reporters as he sat down with Trump at the luxury Hotel Metropole in Hanoi.
Kim promised to “do my best to achieve a great, ultimately good outcome” and said that he had walked “side by side to Hanoi” with his American counterpart.
Trump, meanwhile, said he wasn’t in a hurry to make a deal.
“We are going to see, there is no rush, we want to do the right deal,” he said.
The first round of talks took place over dinner Wednesday, with Trump saying he was satisfied with how the negotiations were going.
Both sides have expressed hope for progress on a deal.
