Chris Watts murdered family after he admitted to affair: attorney

The Colorado man convicted of murdering his family began the deadly assault on his wife after he admitted to having and affair and she threatened to take the kids away

Chris Watts, 33, murdered his pregnant wife Shanann, 34, after an argument about their relationship last August — then smothered his daughter when she walked in on the brutal attack, an attorney for the wife’s family said on “The Dr. Phil Show.”

“In that fight, [Chris] essentially confessed to having an affair, that he wanted a divorce, that it was pretty much over between them,” the lawyer, Steven Lambert, said.

“[Shanann] said something to the effect of, ‘Well, you’re not going to see the kids again.’ As a consequence of that conversation, he strangled her to death.”

That’s when four-year-old Bella walked in.

“What are you doing with mommy?” she asked her dad, before he murdered her and her younger sister, three-year-old Celeste, according to Lambert.

The “Dr. Phil” clip, obtained by The Post, will air on Tuesday.

Lambert is representing Shanann’s parents in a wrongful death suit against their son-in-law. The parents, Frank and Sandra Rzucek will also appear on the show Tuesday.

Watts pleaded guilty to the murders and is serving multiple life sentences in a Wisconsin prison.
