TAMPA — Danny Farquhar was among those reassigned to the Yankees’ minor league camp, two days after another rough outing against the Tigers. The right-hander is coming back from a brain hemorrhage he suffered during a game last April 20.
“We saw enough that suggests he can get back to where he was,’’ Yankees manager Boone said before the Yankees’ 8-7 win over the Orioles on Tuesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. “He didn’t get great results, obviously, in games, but we saw a lot in the sim game, how some pitches were playing.”
Boone said he thinks Farquhar will benefit from pitching regularly.
“He’s a lot closer than it may appear to being who he’s been throughout his career,’’ Boone said. “Getting regular work will do him good because he could help us potentially, too.”
Chance Adams and Joe Harvey also were optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
