Police were called to Gracie Mansion on Wednesday morning to wrangle an unwanted visitor — a raccoon that had nestled itself under backyard patio furniture, police and sources said.

Officers from the NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit were called around 9:25 a.m. to the mayor’s sprawling home on East End Avenue near East 88th Street, where the raccoon tore through a hole in the furniture cover and took shelter, according to the sources.

“He gave me a thousand-mile stare, then growled,” said a source at the scene. Officers placed the animal in a crate without any problems.

The source added the raccoon was “healthy and huge [and] well-fed at Gracie Mansion.”

Police said the animal would be transported to the Animal Care Center.

Since January, four rabid raccoons have been discovered inside Inwood Hill Park — approximately 8 miles away from Gracie Mansion — for the first time since 2011.

Two other rabid raccoons have been found so far this year, on Staten Island and in the Bronx.
