The socialite daughter of a New York City ballet power couple was sentenced to 72 hours of community service for a spree of Maine burglaries she committed with her boyfriend two years ago.
Talicia Martins, 22, received the sentence last week after holding up her end of a plea agreement that mandated she stay out of trouble for a year, the Bangor Daily News reported Tuesday. As part of the deal, two of Martins’ burglary charges were dismissed and a third was lowered to a theft charge.
The so-called “Ballet Bandit” and her Big Apple boyfriend, Jacob Flanagan, 21, were busted in August 2017 for robbing the Smoothie Shack, Francine Bistro and Camden Cone in the tony summer enclave of Camden, making off with more than $2,000.
As part of the agreement, which was reached last year, the pair had to undergo counseling, not use alcohol or drugs and not commit any other crimes.
Martins — the daughter of Darci Kistler, a former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, and Peter Martins, a famed Danish choreographer — will start her court-mandated community service in October. Flanagan was ordered to pay a $400 fine for a single criminal trespassing charge.
District Attorney Natasha Irving said the string of robberies was fueled by Martins’ heroin addiction, for which she has since received treatment.
The budding socialite was caught in June 2017 with crack cocaine and heroin at her parents’ luxury West End Avenue apartment.
