El Chapo’s wife and daughter launch competing fashion lines

It’s killer fashion.

El Chapo’s wife will be competing with her own stepdaughter in the cutthroat world of retail after both women launched clothing lines named for Joaquin Guzman Loera, the world’s most brutal drug trafficker.

Last month, a lawyer for El Chapo’s wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, registered a trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for “El Chapo Guzman” to market a line of cell phone cases, hats, T-shirts and sweatshirts. The circular logo for the brand features a lion’s head, framed by the name “El Chapo Guzman” in bold capital letters, according to the federal registration.

The competing line — El Chapo 701 — was founded by Alejandrina Guzman Salazar, one of El Chapo’s 10 children. Although it has not been registered in the US, a web site for the brand shows leather goods, jeans and everything from liquor to cigars.

“We have nothing to do with that company,” said Mariel Colon Miro, a member of El Chapo’s criminal defense team and a spokeswoman for his wife.

“This is a project that they [El Chapo and his wife] have been talking about for a few years, and now that his case is over Ms. Coronel has decided to go forward.”

Colon said all the clothing and accessories would be made in Mexico. Coronel has put out a call on her Instagram page for Mexican designers to work on the goods. El Chapo will not share in the proceeds, Colon told The Post.

“She is very excited,” said Colon. “ She has been inviting fresh faces and new talent to join the project. What better way to give them a platform?”

The launch is scheduled for the summer.

Guzman, who was convicted on all charges related to drug trafficking in Brooklyn federal court, now faces life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for June 25.
