High-profile celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti will be charged in a 36-count indictment Thursday by federal prosecutors in Los Angeles, according to a report.
US Attorney Nick Hanna and agents with the Internal Revenue Service will hold a news conference at 9 a.m. PT to discuss details of the case, the Associated Press reported.
“I intend to fully fight all charges and plead NOT GUILTY. I look forward to the entire truth being known as opposed to a one-sided version meant to sideline me,” Avenatti wrote on Twitter.
Avenatti, who represented porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuits against President Trump, was arrested in New York last month for allegedly trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike.
