Mom will hopefully be the word soon for Ronda Rousey.
After announcing she and husband Travis Browne were going on an “#impregnationvacation” earlier this month, the WWE star got candid about her future, which she hopes includes parenthood.
“As for WWE plans in the future, we want to have a baby first,” Rousey said in a YouTube video, published Monday from her channel.
“I don’t know what it’s like to have a baby. I could look down at this beautiful child and be like, ‘F–k everything, I don’t care about anything else other than this baby.’ And you’ll never see me again. Or, I could be like my mom, who trained while she was eight months pregnant and then won the US Open [judo] six weeks after giving birth.”
Rousey, whose WWE contract runs through April 2021, lost her Raw women’s championship at WrestleMania 35 to Becky Lynch. She also spoke about her original plans after she first joined WWE over a year ago.
“Originally we approached them and I thought I’d only be able to wrestle from WrestleMania til November because we already wanted to start a family,” Rousey said of her plan with Browne, the fellow UFC fighter she married in 2017.
“We came to the WWE as like, ‘Hey, before we have a baby, I just want to come do this for a couple of months because it’s something I always wanted to do.’ And then it just kind of snowballed into, instead of being like a small detour in my life, it became my whole life for an entire year.”
Although Rousey isn’t making future career plans just yet, she’s grateful for the ongoing support.
“I’ve had the most amazing time this year, I’m also looking forward to a little bit of a rest, and some mom and dad time,” she said.
