It was the lowest of low-blows.
Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons took exception to Kyle Lowry’s boxing-out technique in the second quarter of Game 3 of their second-round series, throwing an elbow up into the Toronto Raptors defender’s groin. Lowry dropped to his knees in the paint but resumed playing.
The cheap shot was not called for a foul by officials, though league discipline isn’t out of the question for the brazen act.
The teams were tied at one game apiece in their best-of-seven series heading into Thursday’s game.
