Steve Cohen shows up to no-show Barr hearing with bucket of KFC

Rep. Steve Cohen showed up at the House Judiciary Committee where Attorney General William Barr was a no-show munching on a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

“The attorney general is here,” Cohen (D-Tennessee) said, pointing at the bucket and a ceramic chicken he brought with him.

After the hearing, which featured an empty chair where Barr was supposed to sit, Cohen said, “Chicken Barr should have showed up today. It’s a sad day in America.”

Barr told members of the committee Wednesday that he would not appear at the hearing because he did not agree with the format that committee chair Rep. Jerrold Nadler established for questioning.
