‘Star Wars’ Day 2019: ‘May the Fourth Be with You’ event guide

If four “Star Wars” movies in the last few years hasn’t sated your thirst for all things from a galaxy far, far away, you’re in luck.

Saturday marks the annual May the Fourth Be With You day, and there’s no shortage of fun, themed events around town. And this year’s celebration comes just a few days after the passing of Peter Mayhew, who played furry sidekick Chewbacca for decades.

Knock back one at the cantina in his memory.

Bar Crawl

Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker hit the cantina.

Grab a costume — preferably an alien that can easily metabolize alcohol — and join other “Star Wars” fans for a movie-themed bar crawl through the East Village and beyond. The tour includes 11 watering holes. Drink enough and you might start to believe “The Phantom Menace” was actually good.

4 p.m.-2 a.m. Starts at Bowery Electric, 327 Bowery between East Second and East Third streets, $19.14 per person. Tickets at eventbrite.com.

LEGO event

Kids ages 5+ and adults are invited to this beer hall for a STEM-themed LEGO lunch party. (Be sure to wear shoes, for multiple reasons.) Build stormtroopers and vehicles from the “Star Wars” movies. Admission includes two drinks for adults and snacks.

11 a.m.-1 p.m. Bierocracy, 12-23 Jackson Ave. at 47th Road, Queens. $65. Snapology.com

Yankees go Jedi

The first 40,000 through the gates will get a CC Sabathia Jedi bobblehead showing the New York ace wearing a brown robe and holding a lightsaber. Maybe Jedi mind tricks explains how he recently notched his 3,000th strike out.

1:05 p.m. Yankee Stadium, 1 E. 161st St., Bronx. Yankees.com

Special Effects Demo

Take Two Film Academy, a movie school for kids, invites budding George Lucases (ages 6-16) to learn how the “Star Wars” special effects were done. Costumes are encouraged.

10:30 a.m.-noon. West End Secondary School, 227 W 61st St between Tenth and West End aves. Free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. TakeTwoFilmAcademy.com

May the Fourth Be With You Run

Help banish that Jabba the Hutt body before summer by joining this “Star Wars”-themed run. Costumes are encouraged (good luck making it in a block in that clunky C-3PO armor though), and all abilities and paces are welcome.

9-10:30 a.m. Meet at Lululemon, 408 W 14th St. at Ninth Ave. Free.

Movie Marathon

Grab a glass of green milk and maybe an adult diaper and settle in for a marathon of the four most recent “Star Wars” flicks at this boutique hotel. It kicks off with “The Force Awakens,” followed by “The Last Jedi,” “Solo: A Star Wars Story” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

4 p.m. Hotel RL Brooklyn, 1080 Broadway at Malcolm X Blvd. Free. RedLion.com

“A Musical About Star Wars”

The comedic stage show has been in previews, but of course chose its opening day May 4. Watch as two nerds set out to create a musical about their favorite movie franchise. Naysaying critics will be strangled via the Force.

2 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Theatre Row, 401 W 42nd St. at Ninth Ave. $92.25. AMusicalAboutStarWars.com/

Burlesque

The Noir Follies turns its monthly cabaret and burlesque show into a “Star Wars” celebration. Stormtroopers have never been sexier. Or sexy at all, come to think of it.

Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse, 745 Bound Brook Road, Dunellen, NJ. $15 advance, $25 at door. RoxyandDukes.com

Library events

The Force is definitely with the New York Public Library, as several branches around the city go all in for May 4th. Check your local branch for costume contests, movie screenings, BINGO games and more. St. George Library Center on Staten Island hosts an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including a chance to make your own lightsaber.
