Celeb-favorite jewelry designer Ippolita Rostagno is doubling down on creative collabs. She worked with Kendall Jenner on a 2017 collection and was struck by the reality star’s maturity. “She was very, very professional, honestly, so that was kind of interesting. She’s like a real professional in a child’s body.”
Now, Rostagno is debuting the Ippolita x Brooklyn Museum “Artist Charms” collection, working with global art-world stars to create one-of-a-kind charms that benefit the museum. Rostagno partnered with sculptor/performance artist Nick Cave (known for his wearable “Soundsuits”) on the first piece: a 18-k rose-gold “Bunny Boy Soundsuit” covered in pink sapphires, along with a silver version featuring Cave’s iconic fringes.
“One of the interesting ideas behind these completely obscure costumes that Nick uses is this idea of non-gender, hidden gender. And jewelry is a very feminine product, generally speaking, so it was interesting to think about this play on genderless things for a specific gender,” she says. Charmed, we’re sure.
