A 55-year-old man was busted in Nassau County impersonating an NYPD detective, police said.
Cops said they were investigating an unrelated case at a 7-11 on Merrick Road in Oceanside just before 11 Saturday morning when they were approached by Frank Zenon.
Zenon told cops he was with the NYPD.
The officers became suspicious of Zenon during a brief conversation and found he was wanted in New Jersey for fraud, according to police.
Cops found two NYPD detective shields when they searched his home.
Zenon was arrested on charges of criminal impersonation and on his out-of-state warrants, police said.
