Packers quarterback and “Game of Thrones” extra Aaron Rodgers anticipates a few unexpected twists in Sunday’s series finale of the HBO fantasy epic.
“I hope in typical ‘Thrones’ fashion, it ends with a couple twists that you don’t expect,” Rodgers recently told USA Today Sports, adding, “As a lover of the twists in a show like this, I just think it’d be cool to have someone we don’t expect maybe sitting on that Iron Throne in the end.”
Rodgers, 35, appeared in the penultimate episode of “Game of Thrones” last week, in which he portrayed a citizen of King’s Landing.
“It was just for a few seconds, but I’ll always be thankful to have been on the penultimate episode of @gameofthrones #crazyepisodetonight #🔥🔥🔥🔥,” Rodgers posted on Instagram.
While it’s still anybody’s guess as to who winds up on the Iron Throne, Rodgers says you can’t underestimate the underdog.
“It wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that something crazy involving Bran or Tyrion might happen,” the quarterback explained.
Rodgers also believes fans will be saying farewell to many of the show’s power players.
“I would expect a lot of deaths for main characters, I mean that’s kind of the ‘Thrones’ way,” he said.
The series finale of “Game of Thrones” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
