Tased guy claims innocence, says he didn’t point gun at cops

An attorney for a man who was tased by cops after he pulled a gun told a judge Sunday it was a bum rap.

Amado Zubidi, 28, dressed in a wife beater t-shirt, stood with his hands cuffed behind his back and cried as he pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.

“As far as pointing the gun, he’s completely denying that ever happened,” defense attorney Aaron Wallenstein said.

The prosecution, though, asked the judge to jail Zubidi due to the “seriousness” of the crimes.

“He pointed the revolver at a police officer’s stomach and attempted to pull the trigger,” Assistant District Attorney Rachel Schorr said. “Then pointed the revolver at a different police officer and attempted to pull the trigger.”

Authorities said Zubidi was also connected to another shooting in Washington Heights on April 28 when he threw a bottle at another driver during an argument and pulled a gun.

“The defendant then fired the gun and drove off,” Schorr said.

When a judge ordered him to be held without bail, Zubidi mouthed “I love you” to his 29-year-old fiance, Elizabeth Morales, as he was led away.

“It’s not fair,” she told The Post.

Wallenstein said Zubidi had two kids whom he supports.

“This is all trumped up charges that my client denies,” the lawyer said.

Wallenstein, who Zubidi hired after the April incident, said he had talked to police about turning his client in if they were to arrest him.

“The officers had no reason to pull him over,” Wallenstein said.

Zubidi faces charges of aggravated attempted murder of a police officer and weapons possession.
