Queen Elizabeth uses her handbag to send secret codes

Queen Elizabeth II sported one of her beloved handbags — which is rumored to send secret signals to her staff — when she met President Trump on Monday prior to a lavish state banquet.

The accessory, from the London designer Launer, is one of more than 200 owned by the Queen and carries her personal items in addition to sending discreet directives to her underlings, according to The Telegraph.

If Elizabeth takes her bag and places it on the table during dinner, she is telling staff that she wants to leave in five minutes, the London newspaper said.

When the Queen places the bag on the floor, she is signaling that she is having a boring conversation and would like to be rescued by the lady-in-waiting.

The specially made handbag has a longer handle, to make handshakes easier for the Queen. There is also a hook for hanging the bag.

One royal expert said Elizabeth carries a mirror and lipstick inside along with a 5-pound bill to donate to the church.

London’s Lady Magazine wrote that the handbag contains reading glasses, mint lozenges and a fountain pen.

But handbag investigator Phil Dampier listed a host of “good luck charms” from her children that the Queen keeps with her, according to The Telegraph.

These include toy dogs, horses and family photos, including one of Prince Andrew when he returned from the Falklands war in 1982.
