It was a hare-raising rescue.
A big, fluffy bunny was spotted on the loose in Queens early Friday — so cops hopped into action and saved the cottontail.
“Hey everybody, we found a horse….correction — a HUGE bunny!” the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica tweeted Friday.
“This fuzzy guy was found hopping around Jamaica Avenue in Queens and was rescued by our cops in the @NYPD103Pct. He’s on his way to his new home now, hopefully it’s big enough for him! #FridayFeelings.”
Cops found the rotund rabbit bouncing around 162nd Street near Jamaica Avenue with no human friend in sight after midnight, according to the NYPD.
They caught the critter and, after searching for an owner, took him to an animal rescue farm in Long Island, police said. Workers there named him Thumper.
