Gang member charged in shooting of 11-year-old boy in Brooklyn
A gang member was arrested on Friday for the shooting of an 11-year-old boy in Brooklyn, sources said.
Angel Eaddy, 27, a member of the Bloods, was charged with attempted murder, assault, and reckless engagement, according to law enforcement sources.
He allegedly shot the young bystander near Lincoln Place and Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights on Thursday night.
Eaddy intended to shoot a rival Crips member when he struck the boy, sources said.
His target, a 31-year-old Crips gang member, was also struck by gunfire in the shooting.
Eaddy was taken into custody at the 77th Precinct Station house on Thursday night and was charged for the crime Friday afternoon.
Mayor Bill de Blasio on Friday promised an increased police presence in the Crown Heights neighborhood.
