Odell Beckham can’t stop throwing jabs at the Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. is still throwing jabs at his former team.

In a recent, wide-ranging interview with Complex UK, Beckham commented on his trade from the Giants to the Browns, speaking as though he was in control of the move.

“I just felt with the Giants I was just stuck at a place that wasn’t working for me anymore,” Beckham said. “I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to reach my full potential there — mentally, physically, spiritually, everything I felt capable of doing, I just couldn’t see it happening there. So I think allowing me to be in an environment where I can be myself and give it a different approach, I feel like my football will benefit.”

Beckham did agree to a five-year extension worth up to $95 million with the Giants before last season, and general manager Dave Gettleman and the Giants were, of course, the ones who ultimately decided Beckham’s fate. The 26-year-old star didn’t decide to join the Browns, but has shown his excitement since arriving and previously claimed he “feels like a little kid” getting to play with new quarterback Baker Mayfield and LSU teammate and longtime friend Jarvis Landry.

Beckham is also just happy to be out of New York.

“I’m just excited about being able to play football again and not have to deal with all the other stuff and politics that came with my previous role,” Beckham said.
