New Jersey man commutes to his NYC job on a jet ski

He may have the most relaxing — and wettest — commute in the Big Apple.

Instead of dealing with the chaotic traffic or sardine-packed trains and buses, David Pike commutes from Jersey City to his job in Brooklyn by jet ski every day.

His inventive way of getting from point A to point B cut the time of his original travel down from 90 minutes to 15 minutes.

“It’s so much fun,” Pike told ABC’s “Good Morning America” of his new commute.

“My company, New York Trolley, is in Brooklyn, and every day it would take me 90 minutes. I’d have to take the bus to the subway to the PATH to another bus and all the while I’m just looking across the harbor like, ‘I just need to go there, how can I do it?'” he said.

So Pike went on eBay and bought a Sea-Doo jet ski, which he parks at the Brooklyn cruise terminal on a kayak dock when he goes to work. He didn’t specify the model — and he has since upgraded — but the brand is sold on the site at asking prices anywhere from $62 to $20,000.

And Pike still plans to commute via watercraft as the temperatures dip.

“Actually I have a wet suit, so I’m planning to go through November,” he said.
