Here are the majors students should study in college

So, you want to study something in college that’ll actually pay off with a good-paying job? This has become a hot topic in this space.

Here are the top five fields of study from a new survey by Bankrate.com, which takes into account salary for new hires, the unemployment rate in the field and number of college degrees needed beyond a bachelor’s degree: naval/marine engineering, nuclear engineering, pharmacy, genetics and electrical engineering.

The bottom five are drama and theatrical arts, visual and performing arts, composition and rhetoric, linguistics and comparative language and literature and fine arts.

Here’s my modest proposal: Become an engineer for the money and act in community theater for the fun.
