Football players give bullied classmate their clothes in moving video

Talk about a touching touchdown.

MLK College Preparatory School freshman Michael Todd was being cruelly mocked by classmates since the start of this school year — for wearing the same outfit and sneakers every day.

“I really don’t have clothes at home,” the Memphis student tells NBC affiliate KXAN. “My mom can’t buy clothes for me because I’m growing too fast.”

When high school football players Kristopher Graham and Antwann Garrett witnessed their new classmate getting picked on, they decided to help put a stop to the problem.

“When I saw people laugh and bully him, I felt like I needed to do something,” Graham tells the outlet. So he and Garrett went through their closets and found pieces they could gift.

“We did it out of love NOT for clout,” reads the caption of a viral video posted to Facebook, showing Graham and Garrett giving a visibly stunned Todd a new pair of kicks and a bag of clothing as others watch.

“I told him, ‘We’re in the same third period, and I apologize for laughing at you, and I want to give something to you to make it up,'” says Graham.

Todd tells NBC, “I’ve been bullied my entire life.” But getting the gift was “awesome. The best day of my entire life, basically,” he says.

“It was a weak moment for me — I almost cried,” says Garrett, with Graham adding, “And then I cried at lunch when he said, ‘You two are the only ones to give me a gift.’ ”

“That’s how da world should be,” comments one Facebook follower on the video.

“They recorded it, so that everyone can see and hopefully do the same for others,” writes another.

The story comes on the heels of the viral story of a Florida fourth-grader who was bullied for his homemade University of Tennessee T-shirt — and subsequently offered a full scholarship to the school. It also follows recent reports that bullying in NYC schools hit an unprecedented high in 2018.
