The Eagles on Monday cut linebacker Zach Brown, who failed to back up his trash talking of Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins during Philadelphia’s 38-20 loss to Minnesota, ESPN reported.
“Probably the weakest part” of the Vikings offense, Brown told reporters of Cousins before the game.
Cousins let his play do the talking, throwing four touchdowns against one interception in the win. Brown refused to answer questions about his former teammate afterward.
Off-field antics aside, the 29-year-old’s release comes as somewhat of a surprise.
Brown started all six games for the Eagles and had 29 tackles after signing a one-year, $3 million contract with the team this offseason.
He and Cousins were teammates with Washington in 2017, and the quarterback has picked it up since struggling earlier this season.
