Fantasy football injury report for Week 6: James Conner, Amari Cooper

James Conner, Amari Cooper, Will Dissly, and Geoff Swaim were among those injured on Sunday of Week 6 in the NFL season.

Here’s a recap of the injuries to players across the league and how it could impact fantasy football:

James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

James Conner left late during Sunday’s game with a quad injury and did not return. He was utilized heavily during Sunday’s matchup against the Chargers and scored twice. The severity of the injury is unknown at this point, but if he were to miss any time, the Steelers would turn to Benny Snell Jr. or Trey Edmonds with Jaylen Samuels out after having knee surgery.

Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys

Amari Cooper was sidelined with a quad injury after the first drive of Sunday’s game. He went to the locker room and was ruled out for a return. He told reporters after the game that he was in “pretty significant pain.” NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported early Monday morning that Cooper was diagnosed with a thigh bruise that can be “horribly painful” but there is no indication of long-term damage. If he were to miss time any time, Michael Gallup would become the No. 1 receiver in Dallas.

Will Dissly, TE, Seattle Seahawks

Will Dissly suffered a non-contact injury early in the second quarter and had to be carted off the field. Early signs indicated that Dissly injured his left achilles tendon and it could be a season-ending injury. This is a devastating blow for sophomore the tight end who is having a breakout season thus far. Dissly missed all but four games last year with a patellar tendon injury on his other leg.

Seattle’s other two tight ends, Luke Willson and Josh Hollister, who was promoted off the practice squad this week, took snaps in his place.

Geoff Swaim, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars

Geoff Swaim was knocked out after a nasty hit from Saints linebacker Demario Davis on Sunday at the end of the fourth quarter. Davis was flagged for unnecessary roughness, and Swaim is being evaluated for a concussion. This leaves the Jaguars lean at tight end with James O’Shaughnessy on injured reserve. Josh Oliver and Seth DeValve are the remaining tight ends.

Chris Thompson, RB, Washington Redskins

Chris Thompson exited during the second half of the Redskins Week 6 game against the Dolphins with a foot injury. He was deemed questionable for return.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Cleveland Browns

Baker Mayfield exited the game briefly after falling awkwardly in the third quarter on his left hip. He went to the locker room for X-rays, which came back negative, and returned before the Browns next drive. He looked healthy during the rest of the game and should be fine moving forward. Mayfield finished the day completing 22 of 37 attempts for 249 yards for one touchdown and three interceptions.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

The Post’s Brian Costello reported that Dak Prescott was evaluated for a concussion during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jets. He passed the sideline concussion test and was cleared to re-enter, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers

Receiver Mike Williams had to be assisted off the field after trying to dive for a catch. The Chargers will continue to lean on receiver Keenan Allen for targets, as well as tight end Hunter Henry, who played in his first game since Week 1 and had eight catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Marqise Lee, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Marquise Lee exited Sunday’s game against the Saints with a left foot injury. He was marked questionable for return per the team’s twitter account and was spotted wearing a walking boot leaving the locker room.
