Dolly Parton will offer up lots of heart next month.
Netflix has released a batch of first-look photos from the music legend’s upcoming anthology series, formally titled “Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” premiering Nov. 22.
The show features eight one-hour episodes inspired by some of the country dynamo’s songs, such as “Jolene,” “These Old Bones,” “Cracker Jack” and “Two Doors Down.” The stories will crisscross tones, settings and genres, embracing love stories, inspirational messages, family drama, comedy and western locales. Each episode will include new and “classic” scores by Parton.
The program stars not only Parton herself but also an eclectic roundup of stars old and new. They include Ginnifer Goodwin (“Why Women Kill”), Golden Globe winner Kathleen Turner (“Prizzi’s Honor,” “Romancing the Stone”), spouses Gerald McRaney (“This Is Us,” “House of Cards”) and Delta Burke (“Designing Women”), Oscar and Emmy winner Melissa Leo (“The Fighter,” “Louie”), Vanessa Rubio (“Cobra Kai”), Julianne Hough (“America’s Got Talent”), Tim Reid (“WKRP in Cincinnati”), 1960s crooner Mac Davis, “Thirtysomething” co-stars Timothy Busfield and Patricia Wettig, and Dallas Roberts (“Insatiable”).
And that’s not all Parton, 73, has on tap for the upcoming holiday season: Her “Christmas at Dollywood” special premieres Dec. 8 on the Hallmark Channel.
