Sad-sack singer Puddles the clown turns out Lizzo’s ‘Juice’

It ain’t this clown’s fault that he’s out here getting loose.

Puddles the clown, the viral singing sensation known for his melancholy covers of famous songs, released a “Quiet Storm Style” version of Lizzo’s “Juice” that is both off-putting and oddly inviting.

Can someone just give this guy a hug already?

Throughout much of the stark black-and-white video, which has logged more than 62,000 views in four days, the seemingly lonely jester peers directly into the camera, wearing his signature pancake makeup, white clown costume and a crown emblazoned with the letter “P.”

The sad-sack serenader — aka Atlanta-based musician Mike Geier — slows the tune to nearly half its normal speed to turn it into a languid lullaby. The result: The avant-garde artist’s downtempo version comes off as a little creepy if you’re watching the video, yet comforting if you’re only listening to the audio. But it’s still a visual victory to watch him toss out lyrics such as, “No, I’m not a snack at all — look, baby, I’m the whole damn meal,” imploring viewers to believe the sentiment.

But he does switch some lyrics where necessary, such as substituting “saddest clown” instead of “baddest bitch.” And when, with a downtrodden shake of his head, he sings, “The juice ain’t worth the squeeze if the juice don’t look like this,” he stretches out the last word in a long near-hiss — thankfully forgoing Lizzo’s next line, “Hold up, n—a, please — don’t make me have to take your bitch.”

On his website, Puddles credits a fellow performer, Rebekah Del Rio, with giving him the idea to cover Lizzo’s hit, saying, “I don’t understand some of the references in it, but I love me some Lizzo.”

Puddles — who tours the country as Puddles Pitty Party and even had a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace earlier this year — has 588,000 YouTube subscribers and has notched millions of views for his renditions of songs such as Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me,” Lorde’s “Royals,” Abba’s “Chiquitita,” R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion,” Styx’s “Come Sail Away” and Blondie’s “Dreaming.”

The Post has reached out to Lizzo’s label, Atlantic Records, for her reaction to the dandy ditty. But no matter what she says, the truth hurts: This clown can sing.
