A 21-year-old British backpacker went missing in Cambodia last Wednesday after attending an early morning beach party.
Amelia Bambridge never returned to the Nest Beach Club Hostel following a gathering about 40 minutes away at Police Beach in Koh Rong, according to the Lucie Blackman Trust, a non-profit organization that supports British victims overseas.
Bambridge, of West Sussex, was last about 3:30 a.m. wearing a lilac floral shirt and beige cycling pants, the organization said.
Her purse containing her wallet, phone and bank cards were found on a nearby beach, CNN reported, citing Britain’s PA news agency.
Her mom was contacted by the hostel once her daughter didn’t check out, the outlet said.
Bambridge’s brother, Harry, announced on Facebook Sunday that he arrived in Cambodia to help search for his sister.
Before boarding a flight from Los Angeles to the country, Harry wrote, “For all the religious people can you please do me a big favour and pray for my sister Amelia Bambridge…”
“I’ve asked whoever might be up there, to look after her for just another 20 hours and her big brother will be there as soon as I can be.”
