The boyfriend of a Florida woman has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing her 11-year-old daughter after videos were found on his cellphone, according to a report.
Torrie Austin, 36, pleaded guilty Wednesday in West Palm Beach federal court after the girl’s mother found two videos of her daughter being touched inappropriately on his cellphone while searching the device in January, the Miami Herald reported.
It’s unclear why the woman went through Austin’s phone, but she called the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to report what she saw. After obtaining a warrant from Google, detectives later found the videos and six others during a search of Austin’s phone, Google Drive and Google Photos, the newspaper reported.
The victim’s mother identified the man as Austin, saying the sickening footage was shot in his former home when he watched the woman’s three children while she was working, court documents show.
Austin later told deputies when he was arrested at his job that he had been using cocaine at the time when he molested the girl, claiming it was a mistake, Treasure Coast Newspapers reported.
Austin, who has two children with the victim’s mother, is facing 15 to 30 years in prison for production of visual depictions of the sexual exploitation of a minor.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced in January.
