Washington teen claims Facebook was hacked in plot to kill ex-boyfriend

A Washington state teen girl accused of hatching a plot to kill her ex-boyfriend claims someone hacked her Facebook — then sent him messages trying to lure him to his death.

Fe Hadley, 18, took the stand in her own defense Friday on charges she plotted to kill her ex-beau Ryan Vaughn in November 2017, the Tri-City Herald reported.

Prosecutors claim Hadley conspired with pal Jeremiah Cunningham to stab Vaughn to death behind a Benton City market nearby school.

Hadley allegedly sent Vaughn Facebook messages asking him to meet her at the market to talk and he eventually agreed, the newspaper reported.

The pair met inside the store, but Vaughn decided to go back to class when he saw a suspicious person outside wearing a red mask, prosecutors said. Other students later reported the masked stranger to authorities.

Surveillance cameras showed Cunningham in a mask waiting behind the store with a steak knife, the outlet reported.

Hadley testified on Friday that she didn’t believe Cunningham when he approached her about the murder plot.

“I never said anything about taking part in this,” she read Friday from a previous statement to authorities, according to the outlet.

Hadley chalked up the Facebook messages sent to Vaughn as the work of a hacker, claiming that she was good at grammar and wouldn’t have mixed up “to” for “too,” the newspaper reported.

She also claimed she didn’t typically use the abbreviations in the messages such as “LOL.”

Hadley faces charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection to the foiled plot. Her testimony is scheduled to continue Monday.
