It’s the most Oprah-ful time of the year!
Consummate TV host, magazine founder and gift-giver Orpah Winfrey has revealed her Favorite Things List for 2019, just in time for the holiday season.
In a promo video, Winfrey says she searched “all year long” — with help from Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, BFF Gayle King and more — for 79 deals and steals and “absolute must-give gifts” for Christmas and Hanukkah. The discounted wares she’s hawking this year include earbuds, jewelry, luggage, tea assortments, fuzzy hoodies, hot sauce, pajamas, pressure cookers, fancy candles and backpacks. And many items offer additional discounts if you enter the code “OPRAH”.
Gaga offered Oprah the $96 Glam Attack Holiday Gift Set from her own vegan, cruelty-free Haus Laboratories and gave her lessons in creating the perfect smokey eye and glossy lips. Other beauty goodies include a French-made, plant-based $68 La Chatelaine Luxury Soap Collection — with delicious options like lemon verbena, cherry almond and wild fig — and a life-soothing Footnanny hemp extract spa treatment set ($150).
Looking for a carryall with style? Parker brought her $196 Carried Away convertible backpack — a collaboration with Samsonite — with a rainbow-colored zipper and numerous adjustable straps, which the actress says she uses to “pack everything.”
One of the wackier items Winfrey offers is a Preppi brand Prepster Emergency Backpack ($395). The kit is filled with 100 “emergency essentials” like a phone charger, three-day water and food supplies, space blanket, respirator mask, whistle, “quick-shelter” tent, duct tape (of course!), LED headlamp and even playing cards, all billed for dealing with earthquakes, hurricanes, fires, car trouble or power outages. Hey, ya gotta be prepared for anything, right?
Other stylish gifts that made the list include $25 Peepers brand Bravado and Limelight blue-light-filtering glasses, Intelex microwavable Warmies Slippers ($19.99) to keep your tootsies toasty and the supersoft and splashy House of Fluff faux-fur shearling hat ($125). For the influencer friend who uses their phone too much, Evolg offers touch-screen gloves ($35-44) in various colors that you don’t have to remove in order to swipe left or right this winter.
Kitchen gadgets this year range from a splashy rainbow-hued House VIP Love and Joy stainless steel water bottle ($19.99 by Jewelchic) — which will keep beverages hot for up to 12 hours, cold for up to 24 hours — to a latex-free $12 Ecoffee reusable travel cup, a colorful $99.95 Zwilling Now S knife block set and an $899.68 De’Longhi Dinamica Automatic Coffee & Espresso Machine.
Food goodies include TRUFF brand White Truffle Limited Release Gourmet Hot Sauce ($34.99) for the spicy but swanky folks in your life and the Cake Bake Shop’s maple walnut crumb cake ($68) from Gwendolyn Rogers’ famed Indiana bakery.
Music mavens will love the popular Powerbeats Pro wireless headphones ($249.95) and the Sony SRS-XB12 portable bluetooth speaker ($33) for getting tunes on the go. Winfrey also discovered the new Echo Dot Kids Edition ($69.99) that includes parental controls for filtering out explicit songs and other child-unfriendly material. Too many cords in your life? Grab the Courant Catch:2 multi-device wireless charger ($150), which can charge two devices at a time, including the iPhone Pro.
And if you’re tired of renewing your expensive gym membership every year, there’s always the Flywheel Home exercise bike ($1,599) that lets you stream classes (for an extra fee, of course).
In the “cozy” category of this gift list, Winfrey has picked out pajama sets by Lands’ End ($12-$50) and Cozy Earth ($130) and a 60-inch by 70-inch reversible Hamptons Throw by G.I.L.I. by Jill Martin ($44.98).
Does your favorite sweater have a lint problem? Try the STEAMERY Pilo fabric shaver and lint remover ($49.95), which uses tiny blades to smooth out damaged fabrics.
Pets are even on Winfrey’s gift list, with a Link AKC Smart Dog Collar with GPS Tracker & Activity Monitor ($129) and colorful, reflective bandanas from Spot the Dog ($24.99) to give your pooch better visibility at night.
Winfrey also added a bonus gift to her list: former First Lady Michelle Obama’s new book, “Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice” ($13.99, out Nov. 19), billed as an “intimate” and “inspirational” supplement to her best-selling 2018 memoir.
In revealing her gift list, Winfrey also wrote about her enthusiasm for the holiday season.
“I delight in Christmas Day, when we do a brunch buffet of everything from fresh blueberry muffins to shakshuka, which is sort of like huevos rancheros with a Tunisian passport,” she writes. “Our gathering is mellow and fun and exactly how I want to wind down the year.”
“This holiday season, I wish you excellent health, genuine happiness and joyful days,” she says.
