A partially clothed man was fatally mowed down by two cars on FDR Drive early Saturday — one of which fled the scene, police said.
The unidentified man was attempting to cross the northbound lane of the highway near East Houston Street just before 4 a.m. when he was struck by a car that then sped off, officials said.
He was then hit a second time by a black 2018 Toyota Camry, whose 26-year-old male driver remained on the scene.
Emergency responders discovered him lying on the pavement with severe head trauma was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
It was unclear why the man, who was wearing only a T-shirt and his underwear when he was hit, was on the roadway, sources said.
The driver of the second vehicle refused medical attention at the scene and was not charged, police said.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
