Yankees sign Seton Hall’s Zack Granite to minor-league deal

Attempting to bolster their Triple-A outfield depth the Yankees dipped into the local talent pool, inking Zack Granite to a minor league deal, according to USA Today.

Granite, who went to Staten Island’s Tottenville High School, was drafted in the 14th round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Twins out of Seton Hall and reached the majors in 2017, when he appeared in 40 games for Minnesota and hit .237.

The 27-year-old didn’t play in the majors the past two seasons.

This year, the left-handed hitter batted .290 in 119 games for Nashville, the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate.
