Trio bash bodega clerk with brass knuckles, pipe: cops
A Brooklyn bodega clerk was bashed with brass knuckles and a pipe after asking three troublemakers to leave his shop, police said on Monday.
The beatdown happened Nov. 17 at Golden Gourmet Deli and Grill on Sheepshead Bay Road in Coney Island, according to cops.
The 33-year-old employee, who was familiar with the three miscreants and has had problems with them before, asked them to leave the grocery as soon as they entered around 9 p.m., cops said.
That’s when two of them started laying into the vendor, while a third started stuffing her pockets with snacks, police said.
The clerk was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Coney Island and treated for lacerations to the back of his head and bruises to his face and body, cops said.
One of the suspects, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested and charged with assault, robbery, menacing and criminal mischief, authorities said.
