Buckingham Palace on Monday “emphatically denied” sexual abuse accusations by Jeffrey Epstein “sex slave” Virginia Roberts Giuffre against Prince Andrew — as other women spoke out in support of her.
The palace issued a statement after Giuffre’s interview on the BBC, in which she said she was trafficked by Epstein to have sex with Prince Andrew three times, starting when she was 17.
“It is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts,” the royal family said in the statement.
“Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”
Meanwhile, actress Olivia Munn — who has accused director Brett Ratner of sexual harassment, allegations which the movie man denies — was among those who offered words of support Monday.
“I believe you @VRSVirginia and so grateful for your courage to continue speaking the truth and demand real consequences no matter how powerful, wealthy or royal someone might be,” Munn tweeted with a news article about Giuffre’s interview.
British journalist Kate Maltby, who accused the UK’s secretary of state of sexual harassment, also tweeted her support for Giuffre.
“I can’t imagine the bravery it takes to go up against the British Royal Family,” Maltby tweeted.
