A West Point staff sergeant has been arrested for distributing child pornography, authorities announced Thursday.
Patrick Gorychka, 37, told undercover agents in online chats he was interested in “preteens” and said he was willing to pay for an introduction, according to a White Plains federal court complaint.
One of the agents was introduced to Gorychka as a “pedo mom” named Jane, who “keeps kids of illegals while they work for a couple weeks” and “makes some $ on the side,” the documents state.
“Omg that’s hot,” Gorychka allegedly replied before sending the undercover agent numerous images and videos containing children engaged in sex acts.
The New Windsor man appeared Wednesday before White Plains federal Magistrate Judge Judtih McCarthy, and was released on bail.
He’s charged with one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography, and faces up to 20 years behind bars if convicted.
A West Point spokesperson could not immediately confirm Gorychka’s employment status following the charges.
No information on his lawyer was immediately available.
