Steve Mnuchin’s bid to get a hefty payment from a private jet company is still grounded.
The US Treasury Secretary signed up with JetCard Plus in 2017 via his company, Steven T. Mnuchin Inc., using the membership to prepurchase time on private jets.
But JetCard was supposed to pay $202,668 if Mnuchin Inc. terminated the agreement, which he did in October 2018, he claims.
When JetCard failed to pay, Mnuchin Inc. sued in Florida, where a judge ordered JetCard to pay up.
No payment has been made, and now legal fees have swelled the debt to $219,692, Mnuchin Inc. said in a Dec. 6 Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit against JetCard.
