MetLife Stadium hasn’t been too kind to Dolphins head coach Brian Flores.
After falling to the Giants there Sunday, Flores was fined $25,000 for his tirade directed toward an official at the end of last week’s road loss to the Jets, according to NFL Network.
Flores was angry the league overturned a non-pass interference call against his team late in the loss to the Jets, when it was determined by senior vice president of officiating Al Riveron that Dolphins cornerback Nik Needham interfered with wide receiver Vyncint Smith on third-and-long.
That kept the Jets’ final drive alive, and Sam Ficken ended up kicking a last-second field goal to win the game , 22-21.
The 38-year-old Flores slammed his headset on the sideline after the call was overturned, and at the end of the game dashed toward referee Craig Wrolstad before appearing to scream at him, “That’s a horses–t call.”
“I was upset that we lost the game,” Flores told reporters after the game. “I’m not going to answer any questions about the officiating.”
