A man dressed in a Santa suit was arrested in the parking lot of an upstate New York grocery store on Christmas Eve for allegedly patronizing a prostitute nearly two years ago, a report said.
Edward Agrusti, 40, was collecting donations for the Salvation Army outside the Price Chopper/Market Bistro in Latham when he was recognized by a cop for having an open arrest warrant, according to the Albany Times Union, citing police.
The costumed Kris Kringle was cuffed at about 11:45 a.m. and given a summons.
“We booked him, gave him an appearance ticket and drove him back to Price Chopper to resume his duties,” Colonie police spokesman Lt. Robert H. Winn told the paper.
The Salvation Army didn’t immediately respond to requests from the paper seeking comment.
Agrusti is set to appear in Colonie Town Court on Thursday, the report said.
