The man charged with murdering and sexually abusing a beloved 92-year-old Queens “cat lady” denied his role in the heinous crime Friday.
“No, I did not,” Reeaz Khan, 21, responded after he was asked by a reporter whether he committed the early Monday murder of elderly Maria Fuertes.
Khan, wearing a gray hoodie and sweat pants, made the comment as he was led out of the 106th Precinct by a pair of detectives and put into an unmarked police car.
One man shouted, “I hope you burn in hell” to Khan as he exited the precinct.
Khan was slapped with charges of murder and sex abuse Friday for the slaying that happened at Liberty Avenue and 127th Street in Richmond Hill, just a block from Fuertes’ home.
The elderly victim was known around the area as a “cat lady” who often took late night strolls and collected cans from the streets while feeding local kitties.
