This could have been a little awkward for Olivia Holzmacher.
Joe Burrow’s girlfriend did not have to choose between her school and the Heisman winner on Monday night, thanks to Ohio State’s College Football Playoff loss to Clemson two weeks ago.
It appears Holzmacher and Burrow have been linked since 2017, the quarterback’s last year at Ohio State before transferring to LSU. Holzmacher was a data analytics student at the Big Ten school, graduating last year.
Ahead of kickoff Monday night, Holzmacher shared a few inspiring words on her Instagram story, as the LSU quarterback readied for the national championship game against Trevor Lawrence and the Clemson Tigers.
“Stay focused 9,” Holzmacher wrote.
“Oh yah let’s do this,” she continued.
Holzmacher later posted clips inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, where Burrow led the Tigers to a 42-25 victory over Clemson. Burrow completed 31 of 49 attempts for 463 yards.
“This can’t be taken away from us,” Burrow said. “This national championship will be remembered for a long time in the state of Louisiana.”
In December, she praised Burrow after his Heisman Trophy win.
“I’m so proud of you! The best weekend ever!” Holzmacher posted to Instagram.
